Neoclassical Twin Villas with Terracotta Screens

SKETCH designed the facades of a pair of twin villas mirrored about a single central axis, so that each reads as a reflection of the other. The language is calm and classical: pale cream walls crowned by a deep, stepped cornice, with an arched niche set above a wrought-iron balcony carried on slender columns at the centre of each unit. Ornamental screens in a warm terracotta tone, inspired by traditional mashrabiya, draw a vertical rhythm across both floors and shelter the windows for privacy, while wall lanterns frame the entrances and corners. Each villa is approached by broad raised steps and a paved forecourt edged with simple planted strips.
